Facial Care

Cleaning facial make-up

First, the eyes
At the end of the day, cleaning the delicate tissue around the eyes is most important to avoid irritating and stretching this fragile area. To satisfy the many requests from the fashion world, a growing number of make-up removers are offered on the market. Before selecting a product, it is recommended that you understand their various properties.

There are various eye make-up remover formulas:

  • Liquid: is used to remove every day make-up. It is applied on eyes and eyelids with a wet cotton ball.

  • Gel: its consistency is thicker and application is easier to control. Gels are effective for every day make-up removal and that of water soluble products.

  • Cream or lotion: ideal for drier, more mature skins.

  • Oil pads: cotton pads are saturated with the oily make-up remover. Their use is easy and perfect for traveling. At home, these pads are especially effective in removing heavy make-up.

  • Cleansing clothes: they don’t leave any oily or sticky film on the skin and don’t cause any irritation.

For Softer Skin…

The use of skin emollients or lubricants can fill the gaps between skin cells and leave skin feeling soft. However, emollients tend to be comedogenic which means that they may cause pimples. Commonly used emollients are collagen, almond, canola or sunflower oils, colloidal oats, or animal/vegetable oils. As part of a moisturizing preparation, they are not as efficacious as when used alone. However, if the goal is to soften skin, they are strategic ingredients.
