Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are produced by tiny tears that occur in the deeper layers of the skin. They can appear on the abdomen, thighs and buttocks, and under the breasts of women whose skin is not elastic enough. Although we don’t really know the exact cause of these marks, they appear to worsen with rapid weight gain.

 

Is there a cure?
There are creams and lotions that can make skin softer and reduce the appearance of stretch marks, although they will not prevent them from occurring. After pregnancy, stretch marks will fade to thin white lines that are barely noticeable.
